Hello Hockey Families!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Its that time of year again!
I have a few updates below for all parents and players. Our conditioning week will start on September 9th and run until September 14th. Each division will receive four ice times to prepare for evaluations. It is important for players to attend these conditioning sessions as we will be running through some of the drills that the evaluators will be using.
Evaluations are scheduled for the 16th & 17th which will be completed by Bar-Down. They are widely used throughout all levels & associations across Alberta. Their skills, experience, and knowledge truly make them professionals when it comes to evaluations. They come with an unbiased fair evaluation process that will place each player where they will have the greatest opportunity for development and success!
If you have any questions with the evaluation process please call me to Discuss.
We do require ALL players to attend evaluations ensuring the process is completed properly.
We will be evaluating ALL groups from U9 to U18 this year in preparation for multiple teams once numbers are finalized.
Conditioning and evaluations can be both an exciting and stressful time. Players may be entering a new level or becoming part of a new group of players. Remember that having fun with your teammates, putting your best effort forward, and having confidence in your abilities are what’s important. Wherever this season takes you, we pledge to further develop you as a hockey player, but more importantly as a person & teammate.
We are aiming to have team placements for release on Sept 19th with results being posted on our website. Practices will resume shortly after. Please keep your eye on the schedule for practice times / dates.
As for the regular season, We have already scheduled power skating dates for early in the year. Goalie development is also a priority and we are finalizing some details ensuring we have great support in that area. Other hitting & skating clinics are also in the works in anticipation to develop all our players. We will update & train all our coaches with the in house Edge Boss Hockey Gear we have so it also can be utilized properly.
We are also looking for coaches to help lead our players this season. We have a great group of coaches but would welcome new ones! Please let me know if you are willing to help.
Lastly, please ensure you have made the minimum required payment PRIOR to the conditioning camp. If you have not paid the required minimum fees your player will not skate. Please reach out if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing you all at the rink over the next few weeks. It will be another great & exciting season!!!
If you have any questions please feel free to email or call me.
Thank you,
